Accountant for the self-employed

Digital Admin - Fiduciary services
Self-employed and sole proprietorships

You do your job, we keep your books

When you work alone, bookkeeping happens in the evening, on Sundays, or not at all — until a letter arrives from the social security fund or the tax office. Digital Admin handles your bookkeeping, statements and tax return, and gives you an app to invoice and file your documents from your phone. You know where you stand every month.

What we take care of

  • Your bookkeeping, based on your invoices and scanned receipts.
  • Your annual accounts, ready for your tax return.
  • Your self-employed tax return, with supporting documents.
  • Dealings with the AHV/AVS social security fund: registration, advance payments, final statement.
  • Your VAT return, if you are liable.
  • Answers to your everyday questions: is an expense deductible, should I register with the commercial register, when to switch to an LLC.

The Digital Admin app is included: QR invoices, payment tracking, receipt scanning.

Four key facts for the self-employed in Switzerland

AHV/AVS — being recognised as self-employed

It is the compensation office that recognises your status, not you. It then asks for advance contribution payments, later adjusted based on your tax assessment.

Commercial register — mandatory from CHF 100,000

A sole proprietorship must register with the commercial register from CHF 100,000 annual turnover. Below that, registration is optional.

VAT — mandatory from CHF 100,000

VAT liability becomes mandatory from CHF 100,000 annual turnover from taxable supplies. Below that threshold, voluntary registration may still be beneficial.

Bookkeeping — simplified up to CHF 500,000

Below CHF 500,000 turnover, a sole proprietorship may keep simplified accounts: income, expenses and assets. Documents must be kept for ten years.

FAQ

There is no legal obligation. But once the business is running, bookkeeping, social security, VAT and the tax return take time and mistakes lead to interest charges or back taxes. An accountant gives you that time back and secures your statements.
